Limerick City and County Council, in partnership with the Southern Regional Waste Management Office, Adare Tidy Towns, and the Adare Business Community is proud to announce that a well-attended introductory meeting was held in Adare Heritage Centre on April 19th 2024 in relation to the Adare Green Business Hub.

The project aims to foster a community-led approach to drive local action on circular economy and climate action in order to improve sustainability in Adare village.

The Green Hub initiative will provide resources and support to local businesses looking to adopt more sustainable practices, including waste segregation and waste reduction strategies.

  1. This will include promotion of the suite of free materials, developed by www.mywaste.ie/business, which are available to the business community including:
  • bin signage
  • posters
  • training animations
  • testimonials
  1. The project also includes a proposal to introduce reusable cups in Adare

In addition, the campaign will recognise businesses that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability.

Businesses are invited to book a one-to-one session with a waste advisor who will briefly drop by individual business premises to help identify simple changes to improve waste segregation and recycling. A very informal approach is planned to progress this project in Adare.
