One year on and we look back on an amazing couple of days at the 2022 JP McManus Pro-Am, where the world’s best golfers including Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Xander Schauffele, Pádraig Harrington, Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrrell Hatton and 2023 European Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald gathered all in the name of charity at Adare Manor.
The Pro-Am took place on 4th and 5th July 2022 at Adare Manor in front of millions of TV viewers and over 40,000 thousand excited fans who thronged the village each day for this star studded field of golfers, sportspeople and actors.
Xander Schauffele played exceptional golf on both days to capture the 2022 JP McManus Pro-Am title, holding off exceptional competition from the biggest names in the golfing world. In second place, world #9 Sam Burns excelled on day two, carding eight birdies to finish an impressive one shot back from Schauffele.
There were magnificent performances from a host of European and US players, including 2019 Open Champion, Shane Lowry, who finished as the top Irish player and in third overall on 8-under par while Padraig Harrington matched new records producing a birdie-birdie finish to equal the new course record on 64 set by Xander Schauffele the previous day.
The top world golfers who came to Adare to play in the Pro-Am included Tiger Woods, Thomas Bjorn, Rafa Cabrera-Bello,Paul Casey, Bryson DeChambeau, Luke Donald, Paul Dunne, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Sergio Garcia, Emiliano Grillo, Padraigh Harrington, Tyrrell Hatton, Dustin Johnson, Martin Kaymer, Brooks Koepka, Matt Kuchar, Shane Lowry, Leona Maguire, Graeme McDowell, Paul McGinley, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, John Murphy, Alex Norén, Olesen, Mark O’Meara, Louis Oosthuizen, Pat Perez, Ian Poulter, Seamus Power, Jon Rahm, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Cormac Sharvin, Henrik Stenson, Brandon Stone, Justin Thomas, Lee Westwood, Bernd Wiesberger, Danny Willett, Ian Woosnam and the winner of the Pro-Am Xander Schauffele
The celebrities included Eddie Jordan, Gary Lineker, AP McCoy, Kyle McLachlan, Martin O’Neill, Michael Owen, Aidan Quinn, Niall Quinn, Harry Redknapp, Jamie Redknapp and Keith Wood and many many more household names, and last but not least actor Bill Murray.
