Limerick’s hurlers have been dealt a big blow ahead of the All-Ireland semi-final with the news that captain Declan Hannon will miss the game due to a knee injury picked up in the Munster final.

The Limerick senior hurling management released a statement this Sunday evening that said the following: “Declan sustained a knee injury during last Sunday’s Munster Final that will rule him out for the All-Ireland semi-final in three weeks time.

“We wish him well in his recovery in the coming weeks and look forward to seeing him back on the field once again.”

Kyle Hayes would be the favourite to replace Hannon after he moved into the centre back position during the Munster final win over Clare but Dan Morrissey played at number six several times during the league, including in the league final win over Kilkenny.

Adare Village Website wishes Declan a speedy recovery.
