Former All-Ireland winning Limerick hurler Shane Dowling has announced his engagement to partner Paula Donnelly at Adare Manor.

The 29-year-old Caherdavin man, who won an All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship medal in 2018, helping Limerick earn their first All-Ireland win in 45 years by scoring a goal after coming off the bench, told followers of his latest milestone.

“A Christmas like no other to be had,” the Na Piarsaigh man wrote on Instagram.

The couple were pictured at a frosty looking Adare Manor this Friday evening, with partner Paula showing off her new ring. Dowling, who is an analyst on The Sunday Game on RTÉ also works closely with the Cliona’s Foundation in Limerick, working as one of their four family engagement officers.

Countless messages of congratulations are flowing in for the newly engaged couple with Limerick Olympian Roisin Upton and Louise Cantillon already offering heartfelt messages of support.

Following news of the proposal, the couple decided to take refuge from the beautiful winter scenes by going inside the five-star resort and were later pictured all smiles in front of a brightly lit Christmas tree.

From the Limerick Leader.
