|Today we are launching a national fundraising campaign across radio, press and online media to start the Save our Sheds fund. With Covid-19 we are living through extraordinary times, it has meant the temporarily closing of your sheds and many shed members are isolating at home.|
From the recent IMSA survey we know that 82% of your own fundraising activities have been affected by the Covid 19 crisis which puts immediate pressure on sheds ability to cover ongoing costs. This fundraising campaign is aimed at directly assisting all sheds during this period.
The commitment is to raise as much money as possible and share it with all our sheds equally. All proceeds raised will be going directly to the sheds.
As well as today’s public campaign we are working hard to reach out to private individuals and foundations to raise as much as we can to share out equally to our 450 plus registered sheds.
Barry Sheridan – “We have always been committed to supporting our sheds, that is why we are launching our ‘Save Our Sheds’ (SOS) Fund. We are aiming to raise enough funds so that we can provide direct financial support to the sheds affected by Covid-19 and help them through this very challenging time.
“The men’s sheds have been a vital part of their communities over the past decade, they have been there when we needed them, and now, they need you”.
People can help support the SOS Fund by donating online at www.menssheds.ie/sos, or by texting ‘SHEDS’ to 50300.
