Dear Valued Friends and Guests,

Amidst the backdrop of the pandemic that is Covid-19, we as a family have taken the agonising decision today to close our hotel doors this morning until the end of March as a temporary and precautionary measure to protect our team, our guests, our families, our community and Ireland.

With the support of our wonderful team, we did everything that we could over the last few days to fulfil our promises to our guests to the best of our ability and within the Covid-19 guidelines. We want to thank you our guests for your patience with us during this time where we experienced completely different working and social norms in our hotel. Special thanks also to our team members who were extraordinary.

We are devastated that our loyal team, many of them who have worked side by side with us for over 35 years are unable to come to work for the next few weeks. We will continue to provide as much support as possible to you. We are also so sorry that we cannot support our local community from a hotel service perspective at this time but we believe that we have taken the right decision in the short term. As a family, please get in touch if there is anything that we can help you with.

Our team will be in touch today with any guests who have reservations within the next few weeks.

Behind the scenes, we as an extended family are working energetically so that when we as a team re-open our hotel, we will be ready to bounce back as quickly as possible. We are operating a 24 hour answering system so we would love to assist you with any reservations or queries in the interim. Please call us on 061 605100 or email reservations@woodlands-hotel.ie You will also find our best rates online www.woodlands-hotel.ie

Thanks as always for your continued support. In so many ways, we feel like we are letting so many people down but it is the best choice for your health and public health right now. It is a sad time after over 35 years in business but again our action is to prioritise the health of our team, guests and the wider public.

Before we sign off, hats off to the amazing front-line healthcare professionals and all of those supporting them.

Stay safe. Be kind to the extra vulnerable. We will have the red carpet out for you all soon!

Mary, David, Elaina, Conor, Richard and all the Fitzgerald Family and Team
