Former Munster rugby star Ian Keatley chose Adare Manor for his New Year’s Eve wedding. He and his bride Lisa Downey tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony at Adare’s five star hotel attended by 200 friends and family and some of Ireland’s rugby players.
Ian was full of praise for the staff at Adare Manor saying that guests were coming up to him throughout the day saying how accommodating the staff were. “Adare Manor has a planner and she was great and looked after us very well, which took a lot of pressure off us,” he added.
Adare is a very special place for Ian and Lisa, and their 2 year old daughter Beth was christened in the parish church. He told Independent.ie “Adare is a lovely town and we love the place, we lived in Limerick for a few years and we’ve always liked the venue. We did consider holding the wedding in Italy, but it would have been a lot of trouble to bring everyone over,” he said.
On the following day Ian and Lisa enjoyed a day in the village and went to one the pubs for drinks and a meal.
