There are high hopes that Adare Manor will host the 2026 Ryder Cup. During the official opening of the golf course on Friday 20th April, Mr JP McManus said: “We’ve put our name into the hat, and we’d love to have it. I think we have the facilities to host it. Every golf course owner would love to get the Ryder Cup. I’m sure it would cost plenty, but as I said, I’d like to bring it to Ireland.”
It is understood that JP McManus has had talks with government officials and other members of the golfing community with the aim of securing this No.1 world sporting occasion IN 2026.
Adare Manor has the full support of Ireland’s golfing stars including Rory McIlroy, Padraig Harrington, Shane Lowry and former Ryder Cup winning captain Paul McGinley. McGinley said that he would be “100% behind” Adare as the venue.
Minister of State, Sport and Tourism, Patrick O’Donovan said the resort “will play a very significant role in terms of the marketability of Ireland, especially in North America, where over a million people visited Ireland last year between the US and Canada”.
Apparently Boylesports has made Adare Manor the favourite to host the Ryder Cup in 2026, offering odds of 6/4.
