Adare has won the overall top prize of €10,000 in the annual Limerick Going for Gold 2017 Competition, which is sponsored by the JP McManus Charitable Foundation.
Chairman of Adare Tidy Towns Committee, George Stacpoole said “it was a great experience for us all, in a marvellous community of people.” He said that “the high level of traffic passing through the village every day remains a constant challenge to keep Adare clean and tidy at all times.”
Mayor Stephen Keary congratulated all the winners and said that Limerick’s Going for Gold mission was to make Limerick a brighter, better, cleaner place to live, work and visit.
