Adare’s Award Winning Restaurant
This month we feature Restaurant 1826. The restaurant gets its name from the year that Lord of Dunraven built the cottage. It is located in the centre of the village and its owners, Wade and Elaine, continuously strive to maintain the old world charm and character of the cottage, while serving modern Irish cooking which is matched with friendly and attentive service. “I’m influenced by the rugged West Coast of Ireland, with its abundance of produce” says Wade.

The Manor Fields is one of Ireland’s Top 5O playgrounds.
Yes, the Manor Fields was selected by The Irish Times as one of “the best places to have fun” in last weekend’s Magazine. It wrote “the community-owned multifunctional recreational facility is spread over 25 acres”. It went on to list the equipment “the all-ability playground is sure to impress all the family with a range of equipment for younger and older children: a junior and senior climbing frame; fairy house, totem pole; trampoline; zip wire; balance beams; junior and senior swings; seesaw, etc. Sports pitches make up the rest of the complex and parking is available”.
The article went on to say that “Adare is one of Ireland’s prettiest towns” and that visitors should take time to explore the region.
Well done to James Collins, Chairman, and to his hardworking committee.

Adare offers visitors an excellent choice of fashion boutiques, stocking exclusive brands, as the village is fast becoming the fashion centre of the mid-west of Ireland.
Last year saw the opening of three new ladies fashion boutiques in the village, Life and Soul, Earls and Pearls and Annettes, bringing the number of fashion outlets in Adare to thirteen. Kay Mulcaire has just completed a major extension to Isobel’s on the Main Street, testimony to her confidence in the future of the fashion retail trade in Adare. With the reopening of Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort in the autumn we hope to see a significant growth in tourists from abroad who will enjoy a fashion shopping experience of the highest quality.
