Artists from the region flocked to Adare today to participate in the Open Air Painting Competition, creating a colourful festival of artistic endeavour. For the very first time most of these artists were painting in an outdoor environment and they found themselves surrounded by visitors, well-wishers and locals who seemed in awe of the quality of their work.

Like Paris, where hordes of artists and their easels line the banks of the Seine, Adare’s artists took full advantage of the scenic landscape along the banks of the Maigue and the historic features throughout the village. sends congratulations to all the artists who participated in the event and to the organiser, Andrew Timoney at Draiocht.
